Julia Kushnarenko
Julia Kushnarenko grew up in small city in the North Caucasus and was a graduate at VGIK named after S.A. Gerasimov directing department. In 2019 she made as editor feature documentary “Voy”, made by Oscar-Nominated director Maxim Arbugaev. Julia has collaborated as a director with National Geographic Magazine (USA), Stereotactic production, and “E” film company. Her film “Terra” has won over 15 awards from multiple international film festivals, including a Jean Loup Passek Award. In 2021 she was a member of the international jury at the Melgaço International Documentary Film Festival (Portugal). In 2017 with Veronika Sher, Julia founded the International Dance Short Film Festival BODYSCOPE to popularize Physical Cinema. For the past five years, Julia has been volunteering at a center for struggling teenagers. In 2022 she was granted a scholarship by DocNomads International Master’s Course in Documentary Film directing to make films between Portugal, Hungary, and Belgium with a class of 24 students from all over the world.
