Vuslat Karan
Vuslat Karan (b.1984) is a filmmaker living in Istanbul. She got her BFA in Film and Television from Marmara University. Her short films Tangled (2011) and Scorpion (2010) debuted at !f istanbul film festival. She directed a documentary-narrative hybrid short film Uprooting From the City (2006) about the urban transformation and gentrification of the Romany neighborhoods in the first pilot location in Istanbul. Her previous work experience includes 1st and 2nd assistant director of several feature films and TV shows, 3 years as a senior producer at a digital agency and 2 years of local content management and project development at a music production company. She co-founded Moxie, an independent production company releasing their first feature film Blue ID. She has currently finished her first feature length documentary film titled Blue ID that world premiered at IDFA 2022 Luminous section and won the NPO IDFA Audience Award.
