Drag sensation Lady Galore is about to undergo her biggest transformation yet. Fighting for visibility and solidarity, she has become vital to the European drag community. For Sander den Baas, the man behind Lady Galore, this devotion is starting to take its toll. Although his size is what makes Lady Galore stand out and brought her fame, Sander is struggling with more and more health problems. Gastric bypass surgery will help him regain a healthy weight. But what will remain of Lady Galore?
Identical twin brothers Lazlo and Dylan Tonk (1982) work as a filmmaker duo, based in Utrecht, The Netherlands. The twins share a passion for film, storytelling, dinosaurs and music. Their aim is to draw the viewer into unknown worlds and let them discover they are not that different from the characters inhabiting that world. Lazlo and Dylan both have a master’s degree in film studies at Utrecht University. In their films, Lazlo and Dylan, both identifying as gay, focus mainly on LGBT themes, such as diversity and equality. Their short coming of age film Uitgesproken (2013) won acclaim from audiences worldwide and was awarded the Audience Award at the Vittorio Veneto Kids & Teens International Film Festival in Italy. GALORE is their feature documentary debut.
