Zatvorenik društva predstavlja putovanje u svet i svest mlade transrodne žene, koja je zatvorena od spoljnog sveta već deset godina, zarobljena između lične želje za slobodom i tradicionalnih očekivanja njenih roditelja koji ugrožavaju njeno jedinstvo. Ovo je prvi gruzijski dokumentarac nominovan za Evropske filmske nagrade.

Prisoner of Society is an intimate journey into the world and mind of a young transgender woman, locked away from the outside world for the past decade, trapped between her personal desire for freedom and traditional expectations of her parents that threaten their unity. (It is the first Georgian documentary nominated for European Film Academy Awards)

Rati Tsiteladze

Rati Tsiteladze was born in post-Soviet Georgia. He studied filmmaking at the Hybrid Conservatory, Los Angeles. He is an alumnus of Locarno Academy, TIFF Filmmaker Lab and Berlinale Talents. His shorts won over 50 awards and screened at more than 300 festivals, including Melbourne, Hong Kong and Locarno. His recent work PRISONER OF SOCIETY (2018) won numerous Oscar® qualifying awards and it is the first Georgian short documentary nominated for European Film Academy. He was selected at Cannes Cinéfondation Residence and won the first HFPA Film Independent Award by Hollywood Foreign Press Association Golden Globes®.
