Javier studied I.T. and never considered filmmaking as a job until he started working as a hardware engineer at the BBC in England. There he met many film and TV professionals who open his eyes to what before it was just a hobby. Still in England, he started making music videos for local bands for free and soon returned to Spain as a local film studio offered him a job. There he worked as cameraman, DoP and editor in many projects and in 2014 released his first documentary: Midnight Sun, a music road trip filmed in Finland, Norway and Sweden. After that he moved to Germany and now works as freelance filmmaker in Dresden. In 2016, he met up with Álvaro, a volunteer from Bilbao and decided to film his activities in the Idomeni refugee camp. This was how ‘Natasha’ was born.
